Brands You Should Know : ETHNIK ROOTS

The story behind finding this one is somewhat humorous, but to make it short. My girl was surfing the web and came across a Filipino based clothing company. The first thing she noticed right off the bat was that someone we know *cough*SHOW*cough* was a model for this company which led her giving me the link and checking out the site just to see if it was really him. Not only was it really him, but after peeping there webstore, they got some dope clothing as well.

It all started with a dude named CJ and his obsession of the Filipino sun, which can not only be found on the flag, but also on a few of the shirts. He searched for a shirt with the symbols of his native flag and when he came up short, he decided to do his own thing and start making Tshirts with imagery representing his people, and even one for girls that straight up says FILIPINA.

This may have been what started it, but now the company expanded itself out to other communities such as Muslim, Hispanic and even Egyptian.

Ethnik Roots has a goal in mind and in a quote from the site this is what it is. "Our goal is to break barriers between cultures through the world of fashion."

As you can see below, I'm pretty stoked about the Scream The Prayer Tour/Fest thats goin down July 1 in Mokena, well theres a whole new world of stokement.

For the CHICAGO date, ELI and Dorian's Decay have been added. The lineup can only get more amazing if Attack Attack! joins it.. that or Slipknot.........but I dont think this is there kinda thing

If your unfamiliar with these bands, of course they got Myspaces. Plus look out for Dorian's Decay new CD JUNE 12th. im pretty sure the CD release will be held in aurora.

I know I shoulda posted up shit that happend at Bamboozle and whatnot but I forgot.. But while I was there I missed Gwen Stacy AND Haste the Day trying to get outta the crowd for 3OH!3 and get in front for Hollywood Undead. I returned home blah blah blah and noticed I can make up what I missed because GWEN STACY and HASTE THE DAY will be coming to Mokena JULY 17.. And there not coming alone. There bringing THE CHARIOT, Oh Sleeper, and more... Not enought to be excited over yet??? On the Illinois stop, locals DORIAN'S DECAY and ELI have been addded AHHHHHHHHHH!!!

As if I wasnt stoked enought to see 3OH!3, Attack!Attack!, Underoath,The Devil Wears Prada, and of course MADINA LAKE.... AIDEN gets added to to the same stage as Madina Lake. Fuckin great. At least I know they wont be playing at the same time. With all this goodness floating around Im soo scared that times will collide with each other and I wont be able to see EVERYONE.... Itll work...I just felt the need to write something
